The energy pulse that occured in the previous film is realized to have been a catalyst. All across the globe, Kaiju awaken from dormancy. As the first beings to ever rule the Earth, they are called Titans, and they seek each other out to battle for dominance.
New and classic monsters are introduced. Mothra appears in her larval form. Rodan and his mate emerge from volcanic fire. The MUTOS hatch and attack a nuclear facility.
In homage to Raids, the first battle is between Godzilla and Anguirus.
Oblivious of human boundaries, the Titans trample over any cities that happen to be underfoot
The Rodans fight the MUTOS. Ill-advised human interference give the MUTOS an advantage and Rodan's mate is killed.
G's final battle is with the MUTOS. Outnumbered, he is in danger of losing the fight, but Rodan swoops in for a last minute save, earning vengeance for his lost mate.
G establishes his supremacy over the other monsters, which keeps the peace and makes him a protector of the Earth.
