MOTU profile: Hordak

Hector Kur was a powerful sorcerer and general during the last of the Great Wars.  For most of his life, he  searched for and finally found the fabled Power Sword.  This Sword, he had learned, was forged from the elemental remnants of the transdimensional device that had led to the ruin of Primus eons earlier, when the planet was exposed to the hell world Infinitia.

With his army marching on Castle Grayskull, Hector intended to use his magic to ignite the Sword, and with it, open the portal within the Well Of Souls.  However, the Cosmic Enforcer Zodac intervened.  Zodac split the Sword in two, and exiled Hector Kur to the dark world Despondos.

Despondos was a planet of dark energy that transformed its inhabitants into nosferatu-like beings.  Hector became one of them, and over the years rose to power as Hordak.

He never gave up on his plans for Eternia, however, and eventually made contact with Zanthor, a corrupt Cosmic Enforcer.  Zanthor retrieved the two halves of the Power Sword, and together they opened a gateway to Eternia. Tens of thousands of Horde soldiers invaded. The war had barely begun when Hordak betrayed and killed the Zanthor.  The Enforcer didn't go down easily; the fight divided the Power Sword.  Hordak would have to find a new accomplice to weild the Sword again.

After the Horde's defeat and the lost confrontation with Skeletor that sent him back to Despondos (as told in Eternia Origins Part 4), Hordak's body was badly injured.  To help him regenerate, nanite cells were introduced into his bloodstream.  These cells, combined with his dark magic, allowed Hordak to morph parts his body into cybernetic tools and weapons.

Say hello to my little friend!

Without the Power Sword, Hordak had no way of returning to Eternia, but he was more determined than ever to accomplish his goal.  He ordered the construction of a massive interstellar starship, as big as a large city.  He and his army of thousands entered hypersleep for a centuries long journey back to Eternia.

The ship finally arrived, and after setting down, became Hordak's primary base of operations. The Horde ship and the miles of land surrounding it came to be known as the Fright Zone.

The Fright Zone!  THE FRIGHT ZONE!  THE FRIGHT ZONE!

Hordak recruited new henchmen from the forbidden lands to help in his schemes to conquer Eternia, and battle the forces of both He-Man and Skeletor.

Hordak is the ruthless leader of the Evil Horde!
