Alien Origin

What follows is my personal canon for the Space Jockey as seen in Alien, with some influence from Prometheus.  Foreseeing their eventual extinction over the next few thousand years, the Space Jockeys send their ships to the furthest reaches of their known galaxy. Each ship is tasked with finding a habitable world to colonize. A prehistoric planet Earth is found by one of these ships. It's determined to be an ideal world for terraforming. There's one problem: the planet is already inhabited by a pre-industrial race of humans. Specimens are collected and taken back to the homeworld for study. There, the Jockeys design their plan. After years of research, the humans' genes are edited into the DNA of a species of parasitic orgnism, to make the humans a viable host for it.  Research !  The union of the two species creates a new one, an Alien xenomorph that will be used as a biological weapon to eliminate the human presence on Earth. Development !  The plan is simple. The crea

Point Dread

Art by FerdinandLadera on DeviantArt Its existence revealed to Skeletor after he made his alliance with the Aquitican warlord Mer-Man, Point Dread is a craggy peak emerging from the Eternian Ocean. It is an extinct volcano with a tunnel leading down to a fantastic, ruined, Atlantis-like city hidden beneath the ocean floor. Inside Point Dread, Skeletor keeps the treasure he has plundered from all over the world. There are also mines and construction sites waiting for the slaves Skeletor plans to take once he has seized control of Eternia. But the heart of Point Dread is the great council chamber where Skeletor summons the sinister Masters of the Universe! Image by He-Bro Images from BattleRam Blog

Mer-Man: Ocean Warlord (MOTU profile)

Ancient legend tells that Mer-Man's race, the Aquaticans, were once the dominant species on Eternia.  Their vast underwater realms dwarfed the land-based kingdoms. They worshipped the giant sea demon Bakull, but failed to keep their god appeased with regular sacrifice. Bakull turned on his worshippers, devouring them in droves until almost none were left.  Now only a fraction of the Aquaticans' number remain, divided into rival clans. As leader of the most powerful clan, Mer-Man allies with Skeletor in the hope that after enslaving the people of Eternia, he'll be able to provide enough sacrifice to tame Bakull and use the sea demon to overthrow his dark master. Bakull: The Kraken of Eternia!

MOTU profile: Hordak

Hector Kur was a powerful sorcerer and general during the last of the Great Wars.  For most of his life, he  searched for and finally found the fabled Power Sword.  This Sword, he had learned, was forged from the elemental remnants of the transdimensional device that had led to the ruin of Primus eons earlier, when the planet was exposed to the hell world Infinitia. With his army marching on Castle Grayskull, Hector intended to use his magic to ignite the Sword, and with it, open the portal within the Well Of Souls.  However, the Cosmic Enforcer Zodac intervened.  Zodac split the Sword in two, and exiled Hector Kur to the dark world Despondos. Despondos was a planet of dark energy that transformed its inhabitants into nosferatu-like beings.  Hector became one of them, and over the years rose to power as Hordak. He never gave up on his plans for Eternia, however, and eventually made contact with Zanthor, a corrupt Cosmic Enforcer.  Zanthor retrieved the two halves of the Power Sword,

Teela: Warrior Goddess (MOTU profile)

Warrior Goddesses are the descendants of angelic beings who came to Eternia in mortal bodies to protect the world from demonic evil. Their powers vary from one generation to the next, but typically include shape shifting, spell casting, and telepathy, as well as superhuman strength and long life spans that can last hundreds of years. Many channel their powers through magical staffs, which are also used as melee weapons. Over thousands of years, there has always been a Warrior Goddesses on Eternia who was instrumental in the fight between good and evil. As the magically cloned daughter of the Sorceress, Teela has the strength and potential abilities of a Warrior Goddess.  She considers herself a soldier and doesn't practice sorcery, but she does have the skill to wield the Cobra Staff of Ka, passed down from her mother. She can telekinetically summon the staff to her hand, allowing her to be instantly armed in any situation. With it, she can attack and defend with precognitive pre

My custom painted Castle Grayskull

My wife surprised me one Christmas with a vintage Castle Grayskull she had painted herself.  I've really enjoyed using it as a background and set piece for my toy pics. Battle Royale at Castle Grayskull  The heroes fight to hold the perimeter. I got carried away with the lighting effects but I don't care.  Manny provides cover fire.  I tried to veer away from predictable matchups like He-Man/Skeletor or Teela/Evil-Lyn.  Trap-Jaw tries to snipe Manny.  Zodac provides some balance for the good guys.  Kobra Khan sneaks through the lines and tries to climb over the castle wall, but he didn't expect an attack from above!  Stratos moves to intercept!  Warrior Goddesses  Evil-Lyn uses her magic to force open the Jawbridge.  But she's going NOwhere!  Blocked!  It's ON!  Who will win?  Heavy Metal War ___________________ Don't mess with the champ!

MOTU profile: The Avions

The Avions are a race of winged simians who make their home in the Mystic Mountains. Historically, they have been allied with the free nations of Eternia, but have occasionally been adversaries. Avions are distrustful of outsiders, as they often bring bad tidings and have deceitful intentions.  In turn, many Eternians are fearful of Avions, perceiving them as a hostile race. It doesn't help that villains like Skeletor will often manufacture conflicts between them to weaken their alliance. It was the manipulative scheming of Skeletor that brought Avion leader Stratos into confrontation with He-Man during the latter's Quest for Grayskull, earning the former an undeserved reputation as an Evil Warrior who soared on "Wings of Wickedness".  WANTED: Dead Or Alive!  The misunderstandings were soon resolved, however, and Stratos became one of He-Man's closest friends and allies. I'm totally ripping off Buck Rogers here. The Avions are formidable warriors. Soaring in l
